The Sanskrit word Veda means knowledge and Ayur means daily living. Ayurveda is the knowledge of daily living, of how to keep ourselves healthy on a day-to-day basis. Healing through Yoga

With Ayurveda as our anchor we will delve into the therapeutics of Yoga. What makes Yoga practice therapeutic in nature? According to Krishnamacharya, yoga practice should serve the individual needs of the students, based on their stage of life, capabilities and limitations. As yoga teachers we can support our students by discovering what may be limiting their growth and then design a practice using the appropriate tools of yoga to support their transformational process. No matter what limitations a person has, yoga's main goal is to serve. Learning how to apply the many tools of yoga is an endeavor worth pursuing!
